Paris - Eiffel tower

It was in the year 1889 that the Eiffel tower was erected for the Paris exposition. It required men-power of 300 steel workers and 2 years to construct it. Having its weight of 8.56 million kg (9441 tons) and 40 tons of paint, Paris – Eiffel tower was greatly admired by Utrillo, Chagall, Rousseau and many others. When it was first erected in the heart of Paris, there were many controversies that led the nature lovers to think that it would disturb the plight of birds. But as time moved on, these controversies got cleared up.

Eiffel was a leading European authority who wrote, “The Resistance of the Air” in the year 1913. It is internationally recognized as one of the symbols of Paris.
